Gunpla Works - Gundam Aeolus

Old work from last year, nothing much to explain since I am doing some experiments on colors and mixed with left over parts. I quite liking the results.

Lightning Bawoo (BTC Competition Entry)

Lightning Bawoo is my third entry for the local Gunpla competition this year. This kit took me three months to build and constant revised. Not really a satisfied work, again and again, the spray painting quality went wrong. But I tried to correct the problem by focusing some area improving on the parts color. This actually helps a lot hiding the mistake during work in progress. I will put out some history log and photos how I implement the Lighting Back into Bawoo.

RX-79BD Berserker Destiny (Unit 01)

Based on Blue Destiny model kit, the designed is more focus on close range. Several areas were added with extra heavy armors with beam coating for better protection especially the front custom armor shielding the main body to avoid direct hit by heavy range weaponry. Although the defensive has been increase, the twin chest missiles are weak spot for easy target and critical damage. The armament is now replaced with LaWS (Laser Weapon System) defense weapon which only activate when the front armor destroyed in battle.

The main weaponry uses rare Caletvwlch for close combat due its Mirage Colloid feature that can helps to push the EXAM system into whole new level. To take advantage on the features, the speed and mobility has been improved using GM parts. The replacement blades for Caletvwlch also store on the side of the backpack.

LV-ZGMF-X23S Vent Saviour Gundam ‘High Boost’ + Hyper Bazooka

Not dead, just lazy. I'm trying to keep up with my life since I decided to improve my eating habits by learning some healthy cooking and more exercise causing myself exhaust easily. So my blogging has been very slow as usual. I also rushing my work before taking long leave during Chinese New Year this month. Vent Savior Gundam was actually the last Gunpla I worked last year. It's kinda late posting it up so I decided to take the opportunity uploading today. Nothing much to explain, however, I finally found replacement for the white spray paints.

LJ-ZGMF-X09A - Justice Knight Gundam

Another Gundam Seed experiment kit bash and color test. Nothing much to explain here except I didn't expect the Justice Gundam kit has lack of movement in the hip.

LR-GAT-X102 Regen Duel E

Regen Duel E was my previous incomplete backlog work under Seed VS Astray theme. It’s not easy to continue without reworking and repair some mistakes. Luckily it went nicely without making it worst. My target completion was supposed to be last month. The Tamiya Gun Metal, Light Gun Metal and Gunship Grey spray paints haven’t stock up in the local shop. So I decide to try out other colors to test and second replacement in case out of stock again during painting process.

AMX- 107R Rebawoo (Full Frontal Use)

Finally it’s done! When I first received the Rebawoo kit, my thought was going to be easy to build. Sorry to say this is not true. The worst are the plastic parts came from Bandai factory were somewhat fragile even easily broken and morel like bootleg. I’m not sure how many those who brought it affected but I was among one of the unlucky buyer received two out of three have such problem. There goes the Bandai premium quality. The good one will be kept as antique and the second will be kit bashing later until I got more ideas.

There are a lot of hard sanding work involve during my time spending on certain parts. This is why I say not easy. I believe the paintings are the most challenging when it comes to Sleeves crests. I never fond of it because of this kind of issue, I decided to play it simple and change the way it going to look.

The decals also took me the whole final day of patience and carefully applied on each area using the picture short story note book from the ‘One of Seventy Two’ as reference. I am glad that 70% of the Bandai 1/144 Sinanju decal is usable for Rebawoo. Of course modelers who are more creative than me can apply even better.

Anyway, this is my final work for straight build. The additional work done to the kits are adding Kotobukiya detail option parts, Model Kit World bazooka and Hobby Japan Gundam Seed upgrade parts. I actually over look the upgrade parts results which turned out weird looking thin leg. As a lesson, I will rectify it on my next Rebawoo bashing build.

RX-79(G) GM Sniper Support Unit

There are tons of photos I always forget and promise myself to upload. But once I got back from work or exercise, everything forgotten. Now, this is the opportunity to make up for it!

Actually the GM Sniper - Support Type was built for the local Gunpla GM vs Zaku group build competition. For some unknown reason, it was cancel even the Expressive Art convention were not held (new law, maybe) last year so it was never successfully submit. Check out my last Gunpla built from last year. I will blog a short post of my work in progress later.

GM (Amuro Ray Custom)

It's been a while I haven't posted anything related to the plastic modeling. This year has been slow and maintaining budgets avoiding buying Gunpla. The remaining Gunpla kits really gives me headache and require certain kits in order to continue or complete the work for my projects. Luckily, starting the GM direction landed me a new ideas helping me to get rid some of the resin kits I got from Model Kit World. Yup, the GM Sniper II conversion kit. I will explain my work in the next post. Oh, I can't believe this is going to be 1000 posts!!!

HGUC 1/144 - GM Cannon II 'Anti-Ship Type'

This is my last 2012 year Gunpla work participate in EA CON 2012. Nope, I didn't win. Too bad, yes, but it was a fun competition.

GNX-704T/SG Ahead Shogun

Nothing much idea and effort puts into the Ahead Shogun. I decided to work on the rough idea how will Ahead Sakigake might end up looking like after the engineers went through their trouble working next new idea upgrade to meet Mr Bushido expectation and performed same level against Gundam.

RX-79BDR-01 Blue Destiny Unit 1 Kai

I have been thinking a while turning Blue Destiny Unit 1 into upgrade version. So I decided to get some ideas from various GM designs which ended up removing the twin chest weapons and replaced with intake duct nozzle. The other twin chest missiles now becomes sensor range.

Most of the parts you see are belongs to GM type C and some broken Powered GM. I gives a lot of thought having version KA like. Somehow ended up looks weird, probably because of my fail coloring issue was the cause of it.

Yeah, I tested out the Tamiya white prime 1000. The result were so bad or whatever I might mixed the wrong colors, but no. you can see the white colors are unbalance as few areas looks light and dark. I never expect this would happen and eventually trying using the whole can before starting applying the final painting. It just simply doesn't work no matter how much I spray on it. This shows white prime never was good choice for me and best to go for gray if I could find in local store tomorrow.

RGM-79QR GM Quel Refined

Okay, it sure took me quite long maybe five or six months back to get the photos up. Thanks to myself packing the room so much toys and useless stuffs around near the photo booth. Once I got the plastic container, I clear it up and starts taking the photo of my Gunpla works again. But somehow my Gunpla caught up with lots of dust!

Anyway, nothing much to say about this build. Everything done on the mixing and well, looks good. LOL!

Nix Providence Gundam 2nd Issue

After the down fall of the home base asteroid, the damage Nix Providence was retrieve by the organization and transport to another asteroid base for repair. With careful studies taken from the combat data, the Librarian Works engineers decided to gives Nix Providence further improvement and upgrades with "Yata no Kagami" technology all Dragoon pods and system helps to prevent getting shot down by coordinators ace pilots using beam weaponry.

Combat Characteristics

Even though Nix Providence spotted more bulky and heavier due to extra weaponry installed. The performance has not affected, thanks to extra Dragoon system mounted on both side. It has twice more firing power and survivability by allowing Dragoon System mounting as backpack in case any one of the Dragon system and striker pack were destroy during combat.

The Dragoon striker pack as well getting upgrade featuring eight small Dragoon pods and double composite armed shield system. Although basically same weapon that move from left shoulder and eventually increase the weight of striker pack. With the addition thrusters, mobility performance continues balance.

Powered Zaku II F2

This is the final Gunpla 2011 work that I haven’t posted up yet. First of all, consider these my first experience combining both 1/100 and 1/144 size together. I never had done it before so it’s a good learning new thing and testing. The Zaku II parts you see here is the first released MG 1.0 I got from ten years plus. None painted with few broken and missing parts. The original plan is to repair and modifications. However, I choose to assemble it to the HGUC Zaku II F2 instead.

I do have to admit there are few errors and mistake made during of the works. So the color is the keys for covering up the ugly side. Another problem is the weight on both legs booster. It affects the movement and posing because it’s simply too heavy which of course adding the aftermarket beam pipe putting in more. So far, the back packs is okay and I love the overall looks.

RGM79QH - GM Quel High Mobility

Really love the Advance of Zeta Gunpla kit! I spent quite a lot of time mixing to build a balance high mobility version of Quel. It has additional weapon and shield booster defense against beam weapon which I first thought why this shield booster is so different. Well, I am not kit bashing type so I usually look up in Gundam Wikia for information on those weapons and equipment’s to understand before starting to build and fitting into the UC lines.

RGM79C GM Type C Wagtail “Demonstration Unit”

FINALLY DONE!!! Phew~! Quite a challenging upgrades kit to mess with. Without my sample backup, I won’t be able to learn and experiment better way to build it. Wagtail is really a gorgeous upgrade kit and many ways to mix into crazy GM variations type.

You guys already have seen many EFSF demonstration work in the internet and hobby magazine. I decided to go a bit different. The description does say AE next generation plan were rejected. This hit my mind turning into more prototype alike since I unsuccessful pulling off the shoulder beam sword modification.

My Wagtail doesn’t really look changes not by much. But thanks to Kotobukiya making a great support option parts, helps changing into shoulder thruster styling. The shield retain original with working detachable beam sword. For the lower part, I use back the type C. The overall looks pretty awesome and giving me more idea for the next work.

Gundam TR-1 Advance Hazel II Sniper Custom

Ha! My first Advance of Zeta Gunpla! The result of mix and match Hazel II Sniper Custom unit does make him so heavy type. It just too bad I don’t own any Dengeki Hrududu parts. Otherwise it going to look good compare to the current. I did find a site selling the parts in resin version. The price wasn’t pretty bright and best to forget it.

HGUC Gundam Unicorn with Head Display

Again, I messed up with the lining. It seems like I really have to stop applying too much lining into the all Gunpla kits. Even though it doesn’t stand out too much from the distance but I still find it disappointed. This is the mistake I always made not researching other modeler painting works loh.

Anyway, I didn’t include the bazooka because it would be nice having it on destroy mode. So instead I give a pair of DX Hobby Gatling gun. I think having another one holding on the hand to make it triple. Things weren’t always going according to the plan when the weapon holder is too small to hold. Well there goes for the China cheap quality products.
