Hasbro Transformers Collectors Club

Never thought I would be so addicted to the Transformers toys and finally decide also jumping into the club too. It was suppose planning to join last year, I just hold off due uninterested membership figure except for one, Punch/Counter Punch. I’m sure you guys are curious what so special about the Transformers Collectors Club. Here are the lists of the things you might expect as a TFCC member.

• New Releases
• Character Profiles
• News from Hasbro
• Product Reviews
• Historical Articles
• Hasbro Interviews
• Six page ongoing Comic (Each year’s issues will 'combine' to make one complete story arc)
• FREE Membership Transformers figure (if you join by March 15th each year)
• Transformers Club Shop offering club discounts on Transformers toys
• Ability to purchase member's only figures from the Club store
• Discounts on packages to the official Transformers Convention: BotCon
• Member's Only Forum
• Prizes from Club Contests
• FREE Auctions and Advertisements on MCAX.com (coming soon!)

Of course this entire stuff comes at cost for US$78.00 yearly subscriptions. Come on, no such thing is free. Yes, it is expensive from my point of view for international subscriber. Do note that this is shipped directly from the US.

Well to be honest, there isn’t much interested about the club unless you are planning attending the Botcon event because there is special discount package for registration. TFCC also gives you a private access to member’s forum. However, it’s boring and quiet there.

As for the magazine, I already received my first issue (March/April) few days ago. Kinda disappointed I am expecting from the club. Only the comic sections are at least fun reading. I feel the editor wasted too much unnecessary pages on the interviews and character profiles. Hopefully the next upcoming issue will be better.

Now, according to the latest news pre-ordering TFCC exclusive toys should begin on 25^th this month. I am going to hunt down G2 Ramjet to complete my seekers collection. As for the TFCC free member toy will shipped after the Botcon event which is around June. Not sure yet if I am eligible receiving this year free toy because I register it on the day of 15^th march last month before it expire. The TFCC staffs are not that kind of friendly, even their respond to my question above is hardly understandable.

Please do note that for international members, after you have register and purchase TFCC membership. We are requiring scanning our identification and credit card both front and back for submission. It looks unsafe but according to them it is necessary in their policy. Read the Terms and Conditions for more information.

Proposal to run BSB Gundam & Anime Club in Brunei

I actually found this topic in one of the local cosplayer blog yesterday. It was an interesting idea starting a toy club in Brunei to bring influence on more activities on plastic modeling, cosplayers and promoting Japanese anime movies. I really love to see it happen as Brunei doesn’t have many activities such on these. How successful is going to be is depending on us, if we seriously want to run the new club.

Right now, the club is still not yet active or receiving any sponsors. But bloggers are voicing it in their blog and community. I’m not going to post the copy of full length of open letter here in my blog, mostly it should be done in the forum I choose. But you can visit and read it at Bruneian Cosplayer blog.

Brunei Going For World Cyber Games Rumors

Alright this is just a rumors, it seem like someone in the local companies have received the license to organize the popular gaming world known as World Cyber Games (WCG). I do not have any information on the name of the company. If this is true, that will be good news to all local gamers and those of us who wish it so hard for so many years to make it happen. The reasons are pretty simple, if they organize the tournament and start qualifier players in Brunei. We will be heading straight towards to the WCG stage instead wasting your money and time going to other countries for qualifying which is truly rubbish when I heard these stories about it. Do you think other countries would allow someone from other country take over their seat? Comon!

However, since so many well know cyber cafés have been closed for so many years. I wonder how many gamers were still playing Counter-Strike Source, Warcraft III, Starcraft or maybe Halo. Even if they are many out there still playing, I have to say they are likely only 30% out there are playing the latest version of the game in the cafes or at home. Not to mention our local Cyber Cafes doesn’t really follow the official rules until these days. However, if this becomes official, local gamers should start get the latest update available today or get more information from WCG website for the version of the game used in the tournament. Or else, you can’t even catch up and know the balance of the games.

If you think about organize World Cyber Game in Brunei is quite impossible, because number of sponsors are needed and not to mention huge amount of cash and license of the games required to funds the program including proper consoles, PC and servers setup. However, if this is going to happen, this is going to boost our country tourism, better economies and popularity because it will be the first Muslim country holding such huge events in the world. But I’m sure Malaysia will be the first and I know, they are still trying to get the official organize World Cyber Games.

Blog Action Day - Help Our Environment

Today it's a Blog Action Day! We, bloggers from around the world have been asked to write about how we can help with the environment around us today.

Currently I can think of few that can help us better on our environment activities. Not quite a very good suggestion and probably a costly idea. Anyway, just leave out the money at the moment.

Let's start with the technology. We are seeing more and more new PC, laptop and other affordable entertainment gadget stuffs rolling out from the factory every few months. However, not many of them really today have met the global demand on ROHS, carbon free and lead free in their products like iPhone (according to Greenpeace). Who's the best to go for it? I would definitely think about using VIA "Green Computing" technology. My reason is simple, their products have been known in focus on mostly in power efficiency and meets with today global environment laws. Not to mention VIA is able to roll out their new latest processor running on 1 WATT, which is great news to all. I think if the Governments and small business company are looking for eco-friendly computing and budgets lines performance PC. VIA is worth checking out.

We also do know that, there are millions of users PC are using torrent program to run 24 hours everyday to download legal or illegally musics and videos. However, everyone know this can be easily be done by turning off the PC. But now online gaming are much more worst today, and young gamers are sitting in front camping with their PC everyday. We hope the parents, the community, Governments will joined hand to resolved this. Not just about the environment, saving people lives are also importants with the surrounding. We help the people. We help the environment.

Autopatcher Project Has Been Cease!

Can't really believe Microsoft has started to act and cease Autopatcher completely. I'm not really convince why MS have to do that. But maybe the Service Pack 3 is coming to sooner (2 weeks) so they decided to take action on the project. However, I disagree MS doing this. Autopatcher is a great product and help a lot of the IT tech to do the job fast especially when it comes to fresh installed PC or laptop. Reduced time using all the bandwidth only for Window Update and of course faster delivery for the customers. I really hope MS lift up the banning on the projects.

Today we received an e-mail from Microsoft, requesting the immediate take-down of the download page, which of course means that AutoPatcher is probably history. As much as we disagree, we can do very little, and although the download page is merely a collection of mirrors, we took the download page down.

We would like to thank you for your support. For the past 4 years, it has been a blast. Unfortunately, it seems like it's the end of AutoPatcher as we know it.

About
AutoPatcher is based on the functionality of these special updates, automating their installation process. This way, with only a few mouse clicks and two minutes of your time, AutoPatcher is able to continue with the installation of the items you selected. In short, AutoPatcher combines the advantage of both Windows Update (presentation and description of updates and automated installation), and the special administrative updates (portability and installation without the need of an Internet connection).

Atheists & Discrimination

Ok, I am Atheist and I fully respect other religious people who believe in gods. I never tried to discourage any friends of mine or even family to stay out of their believing on gods. However, I came across watching these video in YouTube about some debate over CNN Atheist discrimination on February this year. I don't know what the hell is happening in America nowadays. So I don't know what the Atheists trying to do there and it just started to sound like becoming another what they called "two horns and a tails" or something. Anyway, I find these debate rather interesting especially Richard Dawkins, who wrote the book called "The God Delusion". I never read his book before but i would love to owned one if someone want to send me one for free. ^^

Story of Desmond Chin...

I am a guy who doesn’t like to buy newspaper in my home country instead spending more time on the internet reading IT and gaming news. It just happen today I pay a visit to Bruneistudent.com and came across a strong post about a young adult suffering from a cancer like diseases. His name is Desmond Chin, age of 20, a Seria resident. According the information from ShimWorld, Desmond was diagnosed with leukaemia in April 2005 and suffers from T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, a type of cancer which causes more than normal quantities of white blood cells. Even I don’t even know what kind of disease is that. It doesn’t sound too good for any adult and children. More importantly, the cost of the treatment and surgery were estimate between $100k and $200k. O_O It didn’t say if that is in UK or US dollar, but still that amount is not everyone able to get it easily. Other issue also because Desmond is a Bruneian Permanent Resident, he is unable to obtain financial support from the government. ShimWorld has already started the donations program to help him over the financial issue.

**Any of you who would like to help and contribute some money can be done at Paypal or made to Desmond’s Baiduri Bank. Full Name: CHIN YUN CHUN and Account No.: 6000706346202. You can also transfer to HSBC account holders: JAN SHIM PHOTOGRAPHY | 001-2195181-001
