C3 AFA Singapore - Bandai Booth #2

The Tamashii toys display booth located behind. Dragon Balls, Naruto, One Piece, Ultraman and few more Gundam figures were shown over there. No exclusive event Tamashii toys spotted there.

C3 AFA Singapore - Bandai Booth #1

Pff…can’t believe my two weeks relaxation and vacation just over like that. My mind is now more refreshing so let’s get into the AFA event detail. For starter, AFA is known as Anime Festival Asia and held at Singapore on 24th to 26th November 2017. Sadly, I can only attend the opening day because my flight to Cairns in Australia was tomorrow.

EACON 2012 – The Lost Light of Cosplay

First of all, let me apologize if I say something wrong that might offend the local organizers and cosplayers in this post. Understand that this is just my personal opinions on the two days experience and find the cosplay group’s performances were somewhat lacking of something.

To be honest, I don't pay just to enter the Gunpla competition. But to see something fresh from cosplays competition at EA CON and maybe more exciting activities this year. For some reason, the gaming simply just took over the spotlight in the event almost the whole day. Everything feels like I am attending to a gaming event instead.

Let me be frank, I am not the only person in the event felt this arrangement are heading wrong direction. There are previous attendees told me the same thing not feeling enjoyable from what I encounter above. Of course not 100% everyone agree or perhaps the organizers are doing this to respect the MIB code.

I never dress as a cosplayer so I’m never knows how they feel. What I do know, it's really tired to wear costumes with accessories or weapons walking around take photos with people just for two whole days. I'm sure the guys are expecting something fun in the event like last year dancing and enjoy more at stage. It just not happening. Nevertheless, glad to know many shows up and enjoy wearing their favorite characters in the event.

Despite all of this performance lacking preparation and the annoying sound system issue came out of nowhere. I do got to give the cosplayers a big thumb up continue bravely performing and did their best on the stage. Here are the video record below (click read more) in case you guys missed during the event and all credit go to Khal.

Expressive Arts Convention 2011 – Day 2 Cosplayers Gathering

Compared to day one, there are more cosplayers showing up on the last day. Sorry about the bad photo quality since I am using quite an old digital camera. So expecting me it’s time to upgrade better to DSLR camera soon. Anyway, this will be the final post for EA CON 2011.

Expressive Art Convention 2011 – Day One Cosplayers Gathering

Not much too says but except the bad news lately. It seems like the some of the parents who attend the events are not happy and started complains in the BB HYS. Of course, I don’t really see any problem with the cosplayers that day and not even slightest showing any sexuality of their skins. So what went wrong that day, probably because of the mass photographers causing stir among the parents fearing their children (especially girls) widely expose to the internet.

I respect the parents concerns and safety of their child. Hopefully it won’t cause so much trouble getting the cosplayers ban in Brunei. Hit read more for day 1 photos.

Expressive Art Convention 2011 – Day One Part 1

The Expressive Art Convention (EA CON) event was held at Asma Hotel in Jerudong for two days (16th and 17th July 2011). It was really a good selected location and easy to find. Park your car outside or basement and head to the front door. Take the stairway up and go straight you will see the EA Con banner.

I got there exact 9AM. Probably I am nervous thinking had to register on time for the Gunpla competition. To my surprised, the place already was starting crowded with cosplayers. I have to be honest. This is the first time in my life seeing real live cosplayers. Hey I’m just a poor guy never been to Japan and attend any cosplayers event before. So forgive me being a village adult.

Otaku Burns Down Mother’s Home in Gundam Revenge

I caught this news at Sankaku Complex (don’t visit if you are under 12 years old) ^^;; and totally laugh hard when I read it. As a die hard Gundam fan myself, I do understand the losses all his stuffs. But things can be talk through with your parents and let them know not to touch anything or throw it away your treasures.

A man has burnt down his home after his mother threw out his Gundam collection, lamenting “I’ve lost my precious Gundam, I may as well die.”

The man, a 29-year-old factory worker and Gundam collector in Hyogo prefecture, who needless to say lived in his mother’s house, became so distraught at the loss of his collection at the hands of his mother that felt his only recourse was fire.

He doused his room in kerosene and ignited it with a lighter, causing a conflagration which swiftly burnt the two storey wooden house to the ground.

Apparently not quite ready to die along with his Gundam, he fled the house and escaped without injury.

His mother (55), who was in the building as her son burnt it down, also escaped.

He explained what happened thus: “My precious Gundam plamo were all thrown out by my mother; I thought I’d die too.”

He has been arrested on charges of arson.

Hatsune Miku the Vocaloid

Who exactly is Hatsune Miku? Why she is so popular? Every single figures, toys, poster, fan arts and cosplay growing like no tomorrow. I have no idea who she really was until i start listening to some of the strange robotic like music in some of the bloggers and Youtube site and there was where I learned about her. She is surely the most perfect vocaloid character I have ever seen.

It was really interesting after seeing continuously popularity in Japan. She even slowly walks into the western markets with more than nine albums I believe. Not to mention, people (not just Otaku) really loves her. One more unbelievable singing voice about her are generate from the computer! Impressive isn’t it and which is why they call it vocaloid (official site for more information).

There was a YouTube video interview the producers and the information about beginning making of Hatsune Miku becomes so popular by Asahicom. You guys should watch the video below as it has a subtitles. I also includes the best Hatsune Miku songs for you guys to listen and gives you an idea why she able successfully enter to Oricon Japan music chart.
