Looking for a Way to Sell Toys Oversea

Recently just got rejected by a well-known toy company from the US. I was told my anime series toys like Figma BRS and Robot Spirit Full Metal Panic! doesn’t worth much in the market even with MISB/MIB condition. Geezz…what the hell is going on? Selling Anime toys are getting harder than ever.

I am completely at a loss in finding a local toy marketplace to sell anymore and had to start looking elsewhere since there are no buyers. It is noticeable increasing number of collectors quit toy collections over the years and the toy buy/sell marketplace is shrinking as well due to fuck up price discrimination for the sake of getting rid of it. Another problem I am seeing here is the Brunei expensive shipping rate posted worldwide. I need to inquire regarding the box size and find out if I am doing it wrong on the website. Can you imagine posting to the US with a shoe box size in DHL cost BND 300.00 for BND 50.00 value item? I have no idea how this is happening but I going to check out with the DHL office if there are any fixed-rate postings around the world since I sometimes do get inquiries outside of Brunei asking about my toys.

 

Double Thigh Bad Luck for DNA Design DK-27

  

Never in my mind to receive double thigh parts in the DNA Design DK-27. The factory worker is good at packing the whole thing preventing me from noticing the problem. This set is hella expensive, it's not something I want to spend and ignore to get another one. I am now trying to source and get help from ShowZ in contacting a DNA Design rep to reproduce again because the Nemesis version is coming in March this year so there is a good chance they are re-releasing the upgrade version for it. Hopefully, there will be good news next week.

Sugo! LED Shooting Studio for Hobbies L (Premium) Review

Sugo! LED Shooting Studio for Hobbies L (Premium) is a new replacement for my Orangemonkie Foldio2. I find the Foldio2 stickers that hold the magnet starting to peel off after less than one year of usage and the wrong guideline for putting up the two led lights positioned at the front. Not to mention, I was screwed over after purchase, they announce an improvement and better version of Foldio2 with almost the same price. I decided to stop looking at Orangemonkie products and search for an alternative.

The retail price is 6,480 JPY, which is cheaper than Orangemonkie Foldio2 Plus depending on the exchange rate for JPY. For this purchase, I am using a discount coupon for the PO to lower the price further. But do take note that, the single-item shipping fee is quite high for the portable photo studio, especially for those of us who only have the DHL option. This is why I hold out for so long (starting in June) to get it shipped until last month.

Crowdfund: Last of the Seekers: Robot Toy

 

It’s been a while since I haven’t crowdfunded anything after the COVID pandemic for two years. The Last of the Seekers: Robot Toy was a last-minute decision to join after reading positive work about Patrick. I only pledge the USD 95.00 for Robot Toy & 22 pg Comic Book (G2). To be honest, I am interested in pledging for the Alpha Big Box but it is a lot of money (USD 299.00) so best to stick with a safer investment first.

The Seeker colour I choose is green, purple, black and yellow because the vibrant colours look really good on the toy and always wanted to have one display together with the Transformers. If the toy does well, I might get the Botcon version which has Starscream colours and may happen to get extra kinds of stuff from it.

What you see in the image is still a 3D-printed prototype toy. They will be improved and manufactured with the help of Ramen Toy whom I never heard of. The target release date will be on May 2023 so I am looking forward and a review of the design quality next year.

Continuing Transformers Siege WFC Hunt

Yup, hunting down the older release Transformers Siege WFC lines is kinda tricky when you are not active during those years. I am trying to avoid as much getting online shopping at this time, but when the restock only happens from outside Brunei. You either spend a bit more because no normal postal service available or regret it. Well, I choose to spend more and regret it later.

Treasure Toy Hunt – Land of Freedom July 2022

It is quite a while since I shipped something from the US. During the COVID, I was a kinda headache figuring out how to ship out my orders from TF Source after six months expired of keeping them at their warehouse. Luckily one of the local collectors I am friends with told me about a good forwarder service, I was able to get it sorted out. So this year again, I decided to do some online shopping at eBay and look for a great deal while taking advantage of their local free shipping (for some).

Joining JoyToy x Warhammer 40K Craziness

It all started with the PC game. From Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate to Dawn of War II, this is where I started to grow interested in the W40K universe and its story (always watched at YT 😂). I always hoped there will be action toys to collect but back then it was all about the tabletop figures. These hobbies are entirely out of the question and are just freaking expensive hobbies to invest in. Not to mention, you need to paint them. Gunpla is a way cheaper investment. Opsss…I hope I didn’t trigger the W40K fans but hey, it’s the truth 😙.

Getting the action figures is a different story. When it was first announced that JoyToy got the license to produce Warhammer 40K last year, I was filled with joy and happiness seeing the prototype in June 2021. These guys are well-known and produced high-quality action figures. The size of the figure itself is 1:18 scale, which is smaller than both Bandai and McFarlane current released as a 1/10 scale. The price is also in between the two but JoyToy price can go beyond Bandai depending on the W40K character and vehicle we are looking at. So far the Outriders bike is expensive, I rather invest in Dreadnought or tanks.

Originally I started with the McFarlane Toys version (only one, phew!) but the quality and painting are meh. There’s no denying that their price is always affordable and does offer a non-painted version for collectors to customize themselves. Too bad, I am not interested and already put up mine for sales on FB. Yeah, I know. The recent teasing first look of Darktide 40k action figures does look amazingly good. Nonetheless, I choose to stay with JoyToy brand. I may consider buying the Bandai version, depending on my budget and the character they intend to release. But I do hope it’s the Blood Raven because they are my favourite chapter of all.

Angry Rant on P-Bandai Gunpla Wish List #2

Is the pee Bandai folks focusing a lot on Advance of Zeta theme lately? I say YES!!! It’s already expected to be happened after Bandai released Master Grade TR-1 Hazel last year. I was right that MG TR-1 Advance Hazel released announcement, but I am wrong about the third party stuff. Since Bandai is such an asshole continue releasing limited Gunpla kits only in their Premium Bandai store, there definitely no surprise they might make both MG version of Hrududu and Primrose upgrade available. Well, according to Gundam Kit news. They are making Hrududu and to be announced on later date. How can I not start collecting MG kit again?

Of course, I do have other suspicious that high grade kits may not get left out and definitely not going to be a good news either. I’m not sure we may get reissue limited Hrududu and Primrose for high grade version again. HG Galbaldy-β could be the next victim for P-Bandai future, Galbaldy β High Mobility Type. Why? Looking at its latest picture showing there is removable chest armor. You won’t be surprise that were specially designed for implementing the AOZ parts (or maybe Build Fighter or Diver).

I know it's too early to speculate at this point especially the HG Gundam TR-6 (Woundwort) is not yet announce coming as retail or fucking Pee Bandai. We know for sure there are some plans for the kit and I really wish the older kits get some treatment too.

HA! Efreet Nacht is coming to Pee-Bandai again. Unimaginable they decided to pissed off majority of its customers who don’t have any access to their premium shop. Getting from third parties will be quite tricky this time. Efreet Nacht is 500 YEN more expensive than Efreet Custom (EXAM) so we are expecting higher mark up. I decided to wait for the review and see what are we getting inside the box. Man, I love Efreet series...

Are you a fan of Gundam The Origin? I am, not as much really jumping in to collect MSD series. The only kit so far I wanted is Waterproof Gundam. Now, FA-78-2 Heavy Gundam is coming? I am seriously had no excuse not to buy one. Problem here are, will both Waterproof Gundam and the MG version getting reissue? Please make it happen!

Angry Rant on P-Bandai Gunpla Wish List

Happy New Year and FUCK P-Bandai, they just can’t stop releasing exclusive and limited stuffs. Not to mention it’s getting ridiculous rolling out more than ever and some doesn’t make sense like selling different colors. The most unimaginable so far are seeing previous limited kits getting reissue. There are good and bad. The good is always having another chance to buy in case you missed previously. The bad, I personally find the release date bad timing and crash with the newly announce kits. Putting me in a tough position either spend more or skip for next month.

HGUC Efreet Kai (Blue Destiny)

I already had a bad feeling when they released Efreet Kai as RE 1/100 category and then seeing the pinky Efreet Nacht as limited released. Now the pinky Efreet Nacht get HGUC retail treatment and the Kai get slap with limited released. This is just so fuck up by P-Bandai. Beware, Efreet Schneid was already showcase at Gundam Tokyo Base, the question remain if might be next P-Bandai.

HGUC EWAC Jegan

We hardly had much EWAC design release so far. It’s good to know EWAC Zack no longer alone but seeing EWAC Jegan landed as limited release really does piss me off. The price itself even cost more than Proto Stark Jegan. I do hope we get good value unused parts, other than getting extra weapons.

HGBF Weiß Sinanju

There’s nothing special about Weiß Sinanju other than only two new melee weapon and with different shield. I don’t see any new armor mod or whatsoever. All the original equipment's are included since it sell nearly 4,000 YEN in retail. My question will always be WHY THE FUCK NO STEIN for HGUC!?!?!

HGBF GN-X IV

GN-X IV announcement indeed was a good news when Bandai didn’t fucking bother to release retail after the last Gundam OO movie and now they decided to juice more money by listing as HGBF limited. 3,000 YEN is way too much when the old GN-X/X III only sold for 1,200 YEN. Even the Striker GN-X is better in my opinion for 1,700 YEN.

HGUC RGM-89 Jegan (Birnam Corps)

The Birnam Corps Jegan is a must have in the wish list. The new head with scope part and its unique weapon design really caught my attention. Problem here is all sold out and the availability are none so far from my sources. Hopfeully there will be another reissue. I am definitely going to hunt for three boxes at least because it got extra visor part inside.

HGUC Atlas Gundam – Thunderbolt Bandit Flower

As much I love Gundam Thunderbolt series. I can only see one new railgun design weapon and the rest same stuffs you from retail version. This is way too expensive for one new weapon. Are there water decal or new parts bundle inside we do not know? SKIP!

MG Gundam Hazel TR-01

Seriously, this is fucking original Hazel from Advance of Zeta in MG scale! Unimaginable that Bandai would release AOZ theme after so many years and I give them a rant pass on this. What interest me was the mod indicates that we might see Advance Hazel in the future. Oh I am sure the 3rd party may be working the parts right now.

Pff…can’t believe my two weeks relaxation and vacation just over like that. My mind is now more refreshing so let’s get into the AFA event detail. For starter, AFA is known as Anime Festival Asia and held at Singapore on 24th to 26th November 2017. Sadly, I can only attend the opening day because my flight to Cairns in Australia was tomorrow.

Nope I didn’t fly to Japan, my sister does. I give her money to help me loot some goodies there since she also interested visiting Gundam Front Tokyo (GFT) last year before the place closing down on March. I do feel a bit regret buying few of the stuffs because when it comes to buying directly in Japan, you need to be careful and check the website for tax-free zone details.

Maketoys Manga Mech Series Set Get!!!

To be honest, I don’t really want to get it but because I have extra Cyclonus from the Classic/Universe three pack 2010 sitting in a plastic bag with the same left arms many years. I feel that he deserved a second chance for some upgrade since I got another one for free complete replacement. But due to the high US dollar exchange rate and the terrible global oil price, you got to think twice on your spending. Needless to say, 3^rd party Transformers toys are freaking expensive these days.

My original plan was supposed to go for MM-02 Rear End alone and mixed with others. Since Robotkingdom no longer (two years?) carry both FansProject and Maketoys, you have to looked somewhere else. I only have two websites in mind previously, either Robotoy Base (formerly known as Chimungmung Toy Shop) or Upgrade Commander. The total price and shipping are definitely don’t come cheap. Yes, I know. Both countries shipping fee have increases. However, it doesn’t mean you got to suck it up. I am patience guy and it doesn’t matter to me losing any exclusive or limited toys in the collection. As long the price is right, I will pay.

After spending time looking deeper through the web in Asia, to my surprises discovering Maketoys happen to sell discounted Manga Mech series set for US$99.90 bundle at their own exclusive shop. I thought they only offer limited version at their exclusive shop. I didn’t imagine they would include other as well. Nonetheless, now it’s time for price comparison against the others.

So did I drive into madness getting this new free HG original weapon parts this week? Nope, not going to. I already learned hard lesson last year and just doesn’t want to get dupe by HLJ again. Despite my heart is still so itching to press the purchase button. In the end, not happening.

There are plenty of Gunpla backlog stuck in my room and hardly finished half of it. It’s best I tried to complete majority of them before start buying again. But it just unimaginable that P-Bandai just screw us again. Who knows HG 1/144 Z-Plus C1 limited release recently just announce for no reason!

Again, I don’t understand why it has to be limited release. If they previously released both S Gundam, Xeku Eins and Z-Plus A1. Why just can’t Z-Plus C1 continue to be retail release? Gosh, this Bandai.

Bandai Continue Nightmare Release Limited Kits

I just don’t get it! How the hell Bandai continue to screw modelers like that releasing those limited kits that grantee to be long term popular? It just not cool playing such card on us especially the exchange rate already 76 YEN against our 1.00 dollar. To be honest, it doesn’t really looks so good for plenty of us if it continues to drop and in case you haven’t notice, the price of the normal Gunpla kit does indeed increase.

The toy market are slowing down definitely and I see several online shops having hard time clearing them off. Even they slash half the price of the toys, whether I should pick up or not because the limited kits are in the way.

So what are the new menus got for me to hunt? Let’s see...

Dream comes true for me. Bandai really up with their sleeves reusing the same mod knowing the retail release Gundam The Origin MSD Local Type not doing well in the market. This change, I am going to get it.

The Maxima Fox Hound

 

Damn Bandai have to come up some new parts making Ez-SR-Maxima sick this year. Now they decided to bring in another into the family, the Ez-SR-Fox Hound. The only different are new Shadow Phantom head and sniper barrel. Take note also, Maxima will released only in Japan as Hobby Pro-Shop exclusive and Fox Hound will be P-Bandai exclusive. Damn them!

I really love both of them and definitely will try to hunt it down no matter what despite facing high probability in increase of standard of living, pay cut and even possible jobless. I already save quite a bit and managing my budget hard so I think can spare a few. Heh!
