Never Dying Toyota Old Car

Water_Tank

When it comes to maintaining an old car, Toyota is the easiest to repair. I am now struggling on the decision, to sell or not to sell moment. My Toyota Corolla Wagon has been often breaking and almost suffer engine burn down incidents these days.

The parts in the car are getting rusty and the damage can be discovering one by one. I just recently experience two breakdown incidents within three months. One with the water hose pumps leakage and now the water tank sudden burst while on the road. I just got it replaced last week and another problem pops up which by the way already told by the mechanic that the water level might decrease and sign of water bubble.

The engine confirm needs to get major overhaul or something to replace damage parts inside the engine. Otherwise, the engine will keep sucking the water dry and burned again if not careful. Since the mechanic are busy this month and had to booked with their time next two weeks because my car need to stay at least 2-3 days at the workshop. I am okay with that but my biggest concern is how much the repair going to cost me this time.

Keeping Aging Car Off Brunei Road?

This is worrying for me. As much I don’t really like comments or bother reading about LegCo meeting and conversations for the past weeks. Pehin Goh who brought this topic up really pissed me off. While I do agree some part about problem with aging cars, I don’t see how the aging cars is only to blame on affecting the traffic congestion’s, air pollution and high petrol spending.

What surprise me is Pehin Goh talks about fuel consumptions. He own a car companies and should already realize any cars that have higher CC engine consume more fuels and that's why we spend even more lah! ALAMAK!!!

It also pointless to argue about environment friendly. Why? Even new diesel cars, continue to produce black smoke in a long run after two or three years and sorry, this is true. No matter it's a gas saver, if people are stingy about spending money maintaining or servicing the cars. Same thing continue happen above. Advise? Well, I dump STP gas cleaning fluid into the gas tank before fueling every month and actually kept out smoke coming from my aging car. I have been using for two years so car still alive if you wonder.

The transportation in Brunei are truly limited access when it comes to locations. Improving require time and real experts to study implementing correct transportation needs. If a dumbass can build an Ugama school near residents housing area and going to cause traffic congestion soon. How do you expect locals and foreigners taking bus to work every day?

Now traffic congestion, how the fuck aging car is only to blame? Traffic congestion can be anything, new or old cars break down and technical failure all the time. Car accidents, terrible road conditions, slow heavy vehicles, shits fall from the transport truck, slow police respond to else the traffic or accident and so on.

I owned a 23-24 years old Toyota Corolla wagon and this car have encountered a lot of technical failures. But the spare parts cost are cheaper, easy to maintain without worrying much and the cost of the fuel consumption never that high as it claim by him. Thanks to it, I was able to save a lot money on gas during the financial income problem and gives me more time finding better job back then.

If this kind of law implement before they even fix the transportation issue. I can survive because I have one less responsible. How about those earning low pay job who unable to get a new car? What even worst for those of us who can't even own a house?

NBT Lucky Draw Get's Flipping Table

After watching these video, everyone of us really wanted to know the whole story. According to one of my friend mention in the wall, the customers apparently got pissed off due dissatisfaction changes to the rules and unfair NBT lucky draw during at the Brunei Consumer Fair 11 event. NBT already clarify the situations in both BB and BT newspaper.

Rumors and speculations floating around my Facebook none stop for few days saying that NBT statements are bullshit so I decided to sniff around for a bit accurate information. First of all, an update, one of the lucky draw customers (in the video) who flipped the tables finally got himself a prize from NBT lawyers. The managements aren't going to let this slide easily because his action causes so much commotion in the event, also hurting someone and damaging the reputation of Toyota brand.

I have no idea how can a brand be affected by this. If it weren't the NBT managements making very bad decisions and arrangement, this situation would never occur. Not only they fail to mention there will be satellite draw venue held in KB showroom. They told Majority of the KB customers must go capital to be eligible entering the draw in the first place. How can not they pissed off big time? Comon, more than two hours drive up and down is fucking tiresome.

As for the guy who throw the table, he is just fucking stupid. He should have just walked away and never buy Toyota again. Now instead ended up getting lawsuit and awaiting jail time. Well, a good lesson to those having mindset thinking yellow IC can get away with anything. Apologizing is the only option for him right now.

KIA Sportage 2011 High Spec 2.0 Get!

Having a new car really bring lots of joy in my life because now I can drive anywhere without worrying the old car broke down. The version I brought is Sportage 2011 2.0 EX Auto Petrol 2WD. In case you wonder, EX is the high spec version for 2.0 Engine which includes two front air bag, rear view camera, front safety led light, side mirror signal light and 18 inch sport wheel. The good thing is the car cover with five years warranty or 150,000KM (which ever come first).

I’m not a car expert, so writing review is never a good idea. But as an owner, I have to say the car is a beauty pack with features you don’t really need to waste money on upgrade. It is fast and comfortable during long distance drive. The only problem I encounter so far is parking because I haven’t get use to cramps parking lot on the front. Side and reverse parking is okay. Well, thanks to the rear sensor and camera. It sure helps a lot warning me whenever I am too close to the objects or cars. As for the rest, same always you need to take care of the car buying polishing kits and worry about replacing the 18” wheel in the future. =_=;;;.

May to Now

Where’s my car? Everyone is asking me this same question over and over again until today. My answer, I don’t know. KIA Sportage 2011 is a crazy hit around the world and recently received international car of the year award. This definitely going boosts up the sales and everyone had to prepare for the worst shortage supplies by the local car company. I already feel impatient and cancel Hyundai Tucson 2010 last year waiting almost for seven months. Now I have to experience the same issue all over again. It’s time for me to move on for alternative car.

There are currently already two cars in mind after I went to KIA show room in KB yesterday. First choice KIA Cerato (Forte) 1.6 Auto five door and the second is KIA Cerato (Forte) 2.0 Auto Sedan. Both of them listed in very good price and pack with nice features compare to any other brands in Brunei. I have to say my most favorite at the moment is KIA Cerato hatchback. I like the design and the rear almost has identical design feel like Sportage 2011. Still, there is a problem. The shipment for this 5 doors model is quite few so I might simply go for Sedan. BTW, both come with same 5 years warranty or 150,00KM, not bad.

Okay, you might think I am a KIA fan. I’m not, it’s not like I never did any survey for other brands. It just almost all of them can’t meet my expectation especially the design and requirements except the Ford Fiesta Sedan 2011 launched last year on December. The new Fiesta does look appealing, good price and attractive. But there are major drawbacks for my personal taste.

Firstly, no USB port and only has line in jack. Secondly, there is only one Fiesta model available in Brunei market. Thirdly the Premier Motor sales agent has lack on information about SYNC feature built in. However, they told me it comes with Bluetooth. But they didn’t demo to me how it work even there are two display car in the show room.

When Jeremy Clarkson reviews Fiesta five door versions on Top Gear two years ago, I feel like I want to get it one day. Sadly, the new version simply just disappointed, it doesn’t pack with the cool feature that the American heavily advertises. For your information, SYNC is made by Microsoft. So I don’t understand why they don’t want to bring over to Asia market.

Ford Fiesta 2011 For Me?

I am quite busy lately working and part time on logo designs. After switching to KIA Sportage 2011, still no stock for me. I think I am going to stop wasting time waiting and simply just jump to Ford Fiesta 2011 Sedan as they got plenty of stocks ready.

Not a bad car really and the price is quite affordable too when it comes with feature. However, according to my friend the Premium Motor currently only have one model which is Sedan version. I was much into hatchback version but too make sure if this car are worth buying it. I check out some of the review on YouTube. The result is quite good except the rear passenger seats on the back are kinda of draw back. I need to find out myself to confirm it because I want my friends and my mom sitting on the back to feel comfortable.

If you are interested on the new Ford Fiesta 2011, you probably need to watch the video review and visit the show room before purchasing it.

Jumping to KIA Sportage 2011

Never thought I would simply jump to KIA Sportage 2011 after a still long wait for Hyundai Tucson 2010 from May this year. It was a final made decision yesterday. Although I am a little sad seeing Tucson slip away from my heart, it just doesn’t stop me switching.

Reason? Plenty I have to admit. Firstly, the price is little cheaper (B$29.250) than the previous booked Tucson 2010 only comes with two air bag and leathered seats. However, Sportage 2011 version gives more compare to Tucson 2010. It got LED daytime running lights, reverse camera & sensors, 18" alloy rims, side repeater lamps & electronic folding! The surprise also, it’s now comes with 5 years warranty or 150,00km (whichever comes first).

I never get a chance to attend the opening night in KB. Nonetheless I manage to check out the manual version and seeing some of them in the road today. Sportage 2011 surely is one of the value unbeatable crossover (or SUV) vehicles and beautifully designs by former Audi designer.

It is sad that leaving Hyundai Tucson 2010. If Setia Motor able bringing in the Hyundai 2011 version, I won’t be jumping to KIA because it definitely going to have similar Sportage 2011 features. Trust me. It looks more beautiful than 2010 version. Too bad they are not coming to Brunei, not until next year. Even though it already started selling in other countries, by that time, it could be doom to for most of us require paying 25% down payment first unless you are an idiot enough dumping all you’re saving into it.
