Super Robot Wars OG: Gesterben Kwai [Serena]

I never had a chance to collect Gespenst Mk-II when Kotobukiya released back in 2009 even missing out Gesterben (Dengeki Shop Limited). Now I got Gesterben Kwai and sitting in the top shelve for almost two years. Why not take the challenge to refresh my mind since getting stuck and frustrating working on the Gunpla kits without new ideas.

As much I understand when looking at the manual and compared at Dalong.Net, Gesterben Kwai was basically reused mod from the first released Gespenst Mk-II (2009). This means the content inside not only featuring new parts but the old Gespenst parts as well which is the reason why it so expensive. Since this is also my first time building it so there’s need to be careful self procedure in place. The first steps right now are cut, sanding and straight assemble.

The four days progress so far is good except slight errors on the shoulder armor that create for lining. I need to fix by applying putty to the lining but that will be later plan. The completion assembling for all the remaining parts are almost done. The next steps will be adding new option parts details and custom weapons unit from Kotobukiya. There’s need in some modifications after finding out few parts are quite weak. Hopefully nothing breaks during the work because I don’t have any single sources to find replacement parts from Kotobukiya to ship internationally.

Frame Arms - Type 32-5 Zenrai Light Assault Type I

It was fun building non-Gundam model kit from time to time and this is my second time working on Frame Arms. Zenrai Light Assault type I theme use both Zenrai Assault Type and Extend Arms 01 in the mix. There isn’t much on the kit bashing because I couldn’t get much idea how to start with it. So I much more relies using option parts to do touch up some details. The only modification so far is the EA01 weaponry that I am good at messing around. It just a minor changes and turn into more alike long range gun type while maintaining its sword standard.

I am quite happy with the final result but I do feel somewhat not adding more stuffs. Anyway, I will try something different next time when I start working on Frame Arms kit again.

Frame Arms: SA-17 Rapiere

Finally completed the kit last two weeks after I spending time fixing up the loose parts on Frame body including finishing up sanding and then spraying. The color result did turn out quite nice, but I did however over done the Rapiere face. I should have goes with lighter color.

Anyhow, SA-17 Rapiere posing does turn out disappointing and need a lot of improvement on the articulations. The movement entirely very limited even having a hard time working a posing especially the shoulder fins (or bits whatever you call it). Because of this issue, I am much more careful not to scratch or damage the colors.

If you plan on buying this kit, I highly recommend you guys do some study and modify the articulation before assemble.
