The Worst Week

This is not a good week for me. Too many worrying problem just suddenly pop up in front of me these few days. I wasn’t able to get my PC working after the Corsair memory ram came back with countless crashing even after reformatting which is why I wasn’t able to post.

I have no idea what get into my PC lately. Corsair RMA sent me the same XMS2 DHX 2GB twin stick and it doesn’t work properly. Almost doing anything on my PC hangs up within a minute and had to force restart. It takes time testing every each hardware especially the hard disk drive is the longest. The test results were all positive even the new memory ram. The only left is the motherboard. If that was the problem, I am truly doomed without any PC. But after applying the latest BIOS update, I didn’t see any crashing until now.

Is it the motherboard fault? It doesn’t necessary if I already using the same memory ram for more than two years unless that was a different chip or some sort. These worry me a lot so I decided to drop a mail bomb to Corsair RMA to verify what kind of memory ram they had replaced to me. After few days later, the response came and letting me know that the memory ram they sent to me is not compatible with my motherboard and reconfirm with me later once their expert verify it. Let see how it goes.

Starcraft II has already release and hasn’t received mine yet. The most worry some is my credit card going to expiring soon next month and I’m not even sure if I could even able to paid for my pre-order for the collector edition. Damn, I wanted that game so much. Thanks to the HSBC bank haven’t reissue my new card while I trying to requesting getting it early. Play-Asia.com haven’t contacting me yet about shipped out yet so there are chances that I’m not going to get it due to the popularity. I pre-order it early after they listed within few hours so I’m not sure if already too late. Arggg….

July Weekend #1

Can’t believe the spray paint runs out last minute when working on AEU Enact custom. Even my work on Gundam O was stuck at the same time. Arggg…hate to see this kind of problem happen all the time. Put it aside, recently I made a pre-order for upcoming this month Dengeki Hobby for August (bundle with RG MS Hanger Base) and Figma Black Rock shooter before the Hobby Search promotion end on few hours. Feel a bit regrets getting Figma toy to be honest.

Originally the order was suppose to be Hobby Japan and Dengeki Hobby. It just too bad Hobby Japan reservation closed so fast from what I believe because of special Black Rock Shooter DVD bundle. Anyhow, luckily manage to reserve the Dengeki for this month.

HM Birthday Day on Gunpla Works

Just another boring day for me, I was supposed to work on side business fixing the laptop. Somehow the hard disk drive dies on me and has to send for warranty. My friend couldn’t replace immediately because of out of stock issue. Now, things were totally knock on the side the whole morning. After spending few minute thinking, I decided go ahead continuing my work on Gunpla started last two weeks.

The current project model is HG 1/144 Gundam O (Type A.C.D) and at the same time, HG 1/144 AEU Enact Custom (Ali Al-Saachez's). Both of them were half done because I applied epoxy putty which requires six hours fully dry and also waiting for restock on the plastic option parts. It’s on the way now from Japan, just order few days ago from Hobby Search during the promotion. Hopefully by next weeks, I can get it. Here is the tease photo of my current idea work.

Gundam O modification is progressing well at the moment, but still figuring out if the left over FG Rasiel parts allow me to squeeze in more. It would be a big waste scraping all of them apart and left as junk. Before doing that, I have to make sure the GN Sefer kits won’t get in the way so has to be done a straight build ‘Form Three’ first and study it. To my surprise, even a single GN Sefer unable to fit or even reach properly on the GN particle tank backpack. It seems like I need to figure out ways and solutions to fix that problem.

AEU Enact Custom is done on straight build and spray painting. This plastic kit is simple to assemble which will be finished on this weekend. After that, hover tank upgrades for this guy. I planning to get my own version design. However, at this moment will be later project as this is challenging because the whole things going to be done on scratch build.

Anyway, check back for more update coming this Monday.

Personal Data Loss

That was fucking unbelievable the Ubuntu are capable of corrupting NTFS partition that bad. Almost 95% of my personal data are entirely gone! I used plenty of powerful recovery software and still no luck getting them back as only 5% of some anime and music are able to retrieve. It really sucks sudden losing all your data like that after reconnecting back and loaded under Linux.

Well, the blame still goes to me not getting another external drive to backup all the stuffs. Losing anime and music weren’t that serious, just sad because of so many years of collections are all there. Photos are okay because I already did a backup two years ago on both DVD and in one of my hard disk. The only heartbroken for whole life is all my graphic design works are disappear. Even though I don’t work much on Photoshop these days, those are my passion works. I lose once way back on 2000 and now again on 2010. Hai~!

Damn this, I really can’t wait to need to deploy my NAS server. I’m in low cash and things are still incomplete. Bad shits just keep coming non-stop! Geezzz…

Temporary Linux

Probably more, damn my Corsair memory ram got problem after I ran a test yesterday using Memtest. I already notice some shits going on from the beginning of the year. It just that I decided to ignore it until it gets often serious restarts or crash. It’s funny that it didn’t happen once when I was on gaming. Luckily it got a lifetime warranty so the only thing I needed to do is send it back to US for RMA. It was the farthest country I ever send for warranty. Meh, next time I swear I won’t buy from Corsair products anymore in the future unless they open a center in Asia for easier RMA.

Now, the big problem starts. I’m in low cash and no spare memory to hold Vista memory tortures. Losing 4GB memory is a big issue for me, which means shutting down my PC was a best option rather using a slow ass PC. But the shitty things about me couldn’t live without internet and reading world news. That’s going to annoy me a lot. Without much second thought, I borrow 512MB DDR2 and 160GB SATA HDD to setup a temporary Ubuntu (starting tomorrow) for the time being which is better than without any internet access.

It’s going to be a long month waiting for my RMA return and not knowing how long it might takes to reach US sending from Brunei. It sucks really, because I have been using Windows my whole life. Sudden switching to Linux doesn’t sound fun to me. But I do hope it comes back before Starcraft II release worldwide.

BuyInCoins Online Shop Review!

We have been seeing lots of China made electrical products selling in Brunei today especially the computer parts and accessories. As an IT technician, I require to prepare tools and tester to support my work even for personal side business. However, the problems are our local computer shops have been selling quite a high price and even some in ridiculous price that are unknown brands with less than one month warranty. If they selling reasonable price, probably I won’t need to go through looking direct China wholesale. Yes, this even might damage local business if every one of us turns to direct China online shop to get it. But I couldn’t help posting the website here.

Right now, there are three shops I discover so far that allow you to buy one item each rather than require in bulks rule. But I decided to choose the best one that offer best price compares to others and that is Buyincoins.com (HQ in Hong Kong).

First Impressions

The website is nicely done, clean, easy to use and fast loading. The search also works very well and I do recommend any of you to use it if you are looking for certain items which is much faster and easier to find. The categories are well listed except one thing I am having trouble is the menu loading sometimes. I only experience when surfing at office using company internet line and tested with other browsers still doesn’t seem to work. I find it strange to be honest and probably the java coding problem.

For your information, BIC offers thousands products and accessories starts from camera, computer, and mobile phones, electronic like flash lights, games and other weird stuffs you can find over there. All of them are well listed except those new products arrival does not mention on their website.

Incredible Value Price

Yes, it is. Almost 90% of them are so affordable that you can’t imagine. I, myself also surprise by it and I made three orders straight to fill my need especially the computer accessories are so cheap I couldn’t help buying it. Most of them are network tools to support my work, aluminum flashlight and some just a weird stuff I wanted to messed with it.

Please be advice that I don’t recommend any of you purchasing Bluetooth and wireless devices or modem because AITI suckers going to tax you for B$50.00 each for personal use or B$200.00 (each) license for business. That’s going to be sorry hefty fee and in the end choose to abandon it.

The computer sellers might also want to gain advantage on the price too when you buy more or in bulks. But based on my perspective, the discount doesn’t seem to be much to me. No complain, because most of the products itself are already way too cheap so I’m sure most you can earn at least 50% profit.

Did I Receive Faulty Products?

Of course, that’s why you need to test it straight away once you received and report them immediately for either replacement or refunds. I mostly had faulty flashlight in two orders so far. The support services are friendly and refund me the next day. Usually I do request them to send me another replacement with my new order. The response normally takes 1-2 days at least.

Warranty Period

The warranty period is no different than ours in Brunei. According to BIC, the manufacturer warranty is only 3 month for most electronic products. I’m not sure what the warranty length for buyers order in bulk. You can just always contact them anytime for more information’s.

Earning Free Coins

To earn Point Coins, either you write review on the products you recently buy or get yourself referring by the buyers. These allow you to purchase anything on the site. But the down side is that you only earn $0.10 for each review approved. More information can be found here.

Payment Methods

Paypal is the only online payment method currently available so expecting this is direct purchase once you checkout. BIC will automatically refund money if there are no stocks available within one week.

Shipping and Packing

For Brunei, BIC provide free shipping for every order. However there won’t be any tracking no provided for amount less than US$20.00. Of course there is optional fee to include tracking no. It’s not much, just an additional fee between US$1-2.00. There’s no point of paying extra when you can get a free tracking no once you purchase over the amount above to get it. You consider that a very good saving!

EMS service also available during check out, but do note that it’s not free and optional shipping method. Same as usual, the cost will be based on the weight of your orders.

As for the packing, for my orders, all of them are packed with bubble wrap and put into postal plastic bag. They are all nicely wrap up inside so don’t worry about receiving damage items. I’m not sure about those made of glass since I never order it before. Well, if you expecting me to tried ordering one or two. You gonna wait until I want to buy it.

Do note that shipping from China usually takes quite a while to reach to Brunei. Normally either on the third or fourth weeks, this is due to the slow transit from in China.

Conclusion

Buy In Coins really know how to make their customers happy. They really done a great job on their customer services and solved most of my faulty items problem by issuing refunds or replacement less than a week. Those folks over Hong Kong even response mail during weekend and Sunday.

The only thing I dislike is not able to know if those popular items going to be restocking. During the past two months monitoring, it hasn’t made any progress seeing update about restocking. According to one of the staffs, normally those sold out restock every two-three weeks. Probably I might have to try placing the out of stock order and see how it goes.

Another problem is they never send any email notifications to buyers that your orders have been dispatched. You can only check through the BIC account in the order history. The tracking numbers will usually listed over there including the screenshot of your order packed from the warehouse before shipping out in China.

Anyway, my overall experience shopping in BIC was rather fun as I am able to buy most of the computer stuffs I long looking for. Not to mention their price are so affordable and comes with free shipping. Although there are others I discover also offer free shipping. BIC so far offer the best price on my list. Before you head over to eBay to search for any computer or mobile phone or even Apple accessories, you should first drop by BIC to check out.
